Home and Leisure Registrations Being Accepted
Although the weather is cool and holidays are around the corner, the Chamber staff is already gearing up for the annual Home and Leisure Show. Save the date of Saturday, April 28. For the past several years the vendor spaces at the show have sold out. Call our office to reserve your spot and promote your business at this great event.
Mandatory Violence and Harassment Policy - Jan 16, 17
Mel Quevillon of the Neighbours Friends and Family at Work program, run out of the Womens Rural Resource Centre is offering small businesses assistance in regard to new legislation. Bill 168 was legislated in June 2010 and states that all workplaces of five employees or more are required to have policies in place around violence and harassment. In particular, domestic violence is highlighted as a necessary piece of this training. The Neighbours Friends and Family program is offering three levels of involvement for businesses from education to a full two-day training workshop being held in Strathroy on January 16 and 17. Put Your Business On The Map
Put your business on the Map Board at the Chamber of Commerce / Tourism office. There are only four spots left on this outdoor display. Be sure your business is one of the first people visit when they are coming into town by being featured on the Map Board. Cost is only $200 per year. Space is limited. Princess Prom Project
Do you have a previously loved prom dress collecting dust? Why not donate it so someone else can attend their prom in style? Dresses are being accepted at the Strathroy & Area Seniors Centre, 137 Frank St, Strathroy from Monday to Friday, 9 am 3:30 pm or by calling Terri at 519-205-0138. In making a donation you will receive coupons from our sponsors: Soul Mind and Body Spa, Once Upon a Time Weddings, and Mary Kay with Ellen Whiting. A Prom Dress shopping spree will be held at the Seniors Centre on Saturday, March 3.
