Each September the Chamber of Commerce recognizes outstanding businesses and individuals in the community. Nominations are now being accepted for the following categories: Business Excellence, Technology, Business Beautification, and Community Service. Lunch With The Mayor                                                             Wed, July 21
Mayor Mel Veale, would like to invite membership of the Strathroy & District Chamber of Commerce, to join him for a business lunch.  This is a great opportunity for members to ask the Mayor questions, put forth suggestions and ideas, and hear first hand from Mayor Veale on the progress and success of Strathroys growing community. This is also an excellent opportunity to meet and mingle with community and business leaders. The lunch will take place at one of the Mayors favourite local eateriesThe Mercantile restaurant, 23752 Adelaide Rd. Mt. Brydges. The Mercantile restaurant is operated by Middlesex Community Living staff and Self Advocates and is located between Strathroy and Mt. Brydges. There is limited seating for this event. StanleyCup in Strathroy                                      Fri, July 23, noon 3 pm
Brian Campbell is bringing the Stanley Cup home to Strathroy. The cup will be at the Gemini on Friday, July 23 from noon to 3 pm so the general public can have their photos taken with the trophy. Mr. Campbell will also be on hand to sign autographs and meet the public.

Downtown Master Plan Unveiled                                          Mon, July 26, 7 pm
After two years in development, the final draft of the Downtown Strathroy Master Plan has been completed.  A final open meeting to gather input from the public will be held at the Strathroy & Area Seniors Centre on Monday July 26, at 7 pm.  Your attendance and input are an important part of this process.  Comments received at this meeting will be forwarded to Council for consideration prior to the approval of the Plan.  The Plan is available for public inspection at the Strathroy Public Library as well as the Municipal website at: www.strathroy-caradoc.ca.  Should you have any inquiries regarding the plan please contact Paul Hicks, Planner by telephone at: 519-245-1105 (ext. 250) or by email at: phicks@strathroy-caradoc.ca.

New TV Show to Feature Strathroy
The Chamber of Commerce, MYFM Radio, Rogers TV and the Next Wave Youth Centre are very excited to be partnering in a pilot TV interview format show highlighting Strathroy and all of its amenities and services. Taping will begin in August and we are looking for people who would like to be on the show for a short interview. The six-part series will cover topics including: Youth, Entrepreneurship, Seniors, Service Clubs, Tourism, Sports and more!
